Low poly Joshua tree, built to your size

A thick trunk forking into stubby arms, each ending in a spiky rosette. As proposed, the Joshua tree is 450 triangles at 5.0 m, with foliage as leaf cards. You can take it from 3 to 7 m, and every other control stays within what a Joshua tree can be.
A Joshua tree is a yucca, not a true tree. It has a thick trunk that forks into stubby arms, and each arm ends in a spiky rosette. It places a scene in the Mojave immediately, whether that's a desert highway, a Route 66 level, or an alien planet that was obviously modeled on Nevada. Its shape is unusual enough that it's still easy to recognize at LOD2.
In the builder the arms are short, thick boughs, and the rosettes are leaf cards clustered at the tips. Bough count sets the number of arms, and bough angle sets how upright they stand. The bark is a shaggy gray-brown and the green is dull and grayish. Joshua trees grow alone, spread out across a plain. Scatter a few at different heights and ages, and avoid planting them in a tight group. The dead version has fallen arms, and it belongs in the same desert.
What you can change
- Trunk: height, diameter, taper, sides, lean, curve and gnarl, with bark from the species' colors or any color you pick.
- Boughs: count, rings or spiral, where they leave the trunk, angle, length, thickness, curve, and twigs.
- Foliage: style, size, spread, complexity (your triangle budget) and two greens.
- Export: LOD1 and LOD2, sapling and young versions, dead, stump, felled, logs and billboards.
The export is a zip with OBJ, STL and 3MF. The OBJ uses the shared palette texture and has flat normals in the file. Models are in meters and stand at the origin, and the zip includes whichever levels of detail and other versions you select. The trees page covers the formats, and the OBJ guide covers importing.

Questions
- How many triangles is the Joshua tree?
- 450 as proposed. The complexity slider takes it down to a few hundred or up for a hero tree, and the export adds LOD1 and LOD2.
- Can I change the height?
- Yes, between 3 and 7 m, and the trunk's diameter, taper and lean with it.
- Is it free?
- Yes. There's no account, no watermark and no limit on downloads.
- Can I use it in a commercial game?
- Everything you build here is yours. Use it in any project, commercial or not, with no attribution required.
